Go Ngatiawa!!

Last Friday was the always popular House Swimming relay!!  In an event usually dominated by either Hampden or Van Dieman, thanks to some amazing Middle Syndicate swimmers, it was Ngatiawa who came away with the first house bragging rights for 2015!  Go Blue!!

Mr Ashby - happy day for a long suffering Ngatiawa supporter

Once again it was the teachers who picked up the 'Reddy' trophy for winning the staff v children race.  And Reddy himself was even there to join in the fun!

This guy wouldn't stop talking!
'Reddy'...set..GO!

Pattersons Swimming!!

This week Pattersons swimming lessons kicked off for the children in years 3 - 6.  It is great to have the pros in to give us plenty of great tips on how to improve our swimming.  Come along and check out what we have been learning at the Middle Syndicate swimming display on Monday 23rd at 1:30.

Something fishy going on??!!

Have a look at the picture above and you will notice something strange in Room 18 today!  No it's not the fact that the kids are working hard!  It's the fact that those kids don't look at all familiar!!  That's because today Room 18 became home to a bunch of lovely year 2 students while their teacher, Mrs C-T basked in the sunshine at the cricket with half of team 18.  Lots of fun was had by all, but...I WANT MY CLASS BACK!!

Welcome Rosie!

We welcomed a new member of team 18 this week... Rosie!!  Rosie comes to us all the way from Christchurch and is with us to keep an eye on what we are up to on behalf of Emma G who is away for the next 5 weeks.  Rosie guards Emma's desk and goes home with a child each night.  Q Bear is happy to have a new friend, but a bit jealous of all the attention she is getting!!
Woof!

Team 18s Typical Students

We decided to find out what the 'typical' Room 18 student was like.  We came up with 5 categories - eye colour, hair colour, favourite subject, height and family size.
The team rotated around and completed a tally chart based on these 5 things.  In the end we learnt that the typical Room 18 student has brown eyes and hair, 4 people in their family, is between 131-140cm and loves PE.  No one in the class this year fitted all these categories but these lovelies below ticked the box for 4 out of 5 of them.
