Maths outside the Class

Yesterday the traffic controllers from Team 18 decided to assess when the busiest time of the day for traffic is along Van Diemen St.  All those parents keen to pick kids up early at 2:25 take the cake!  We used this task as a great way to remind us about tally charts.

Welcome to Team18s Blog for 2015!

Welcome to Year 4 in Room 18!  Like last year, we are the biggest class at Hampden Street School with 16 boys, 13 girls, 1 ageing teacher and a bear!  Not only that, but we are also lucky enough to have our friendly German student Yanik spending is last few weeks at HSS with US!  Here's to an AWESOME year ahead!

Sweet, Sweet Music!

Today we had the pleasure of having Lissa (Alex's mum) come and play the cello to us.  Thanks Lissa, it was fantastic!

Ready, steady...SINK!

Last week the crew of Room 18 made some amazing boats, rafts, yachts and...submarines as part of our 'RISE ABOVE' topic.  Check out the awesome creations made at home and at school.

We then tested their speed and buoyancy in the small pool!  Results were varied to say the least..but a lot of fun was had by all!!

On Friday Freya brought in her chicks to meet us!
